NICHOLAS
GREEN
BA, HHP, BCTMB, BCSI, SEP(c), RYT
Nicholas Green helps people experiencing chronic tension, persistent pain, stress-related holding patterns, posture issues, and nervous system overwhelm through an integrative approach that combines structural bodywork, somatic therapy, and movement education.
Many people come to this work after trying massage, stretching, chiropractic care, physical therapy, or exercise routines that provided only temporary relief. Often the body is not simply “tight” or “misaligned,” but caught in long-standing patterns of protection, compensation, and stress adaptation that affect how we move, breathe, and feel.
Nicholas’ approach is designed to help clients better understand these patterns while creating greater ease, resilience, and adaptability throughout the body. Sessions may include hands-on structural work, nervous system regulation, movement exploration, and collaborative conversation tailored to each individual’s goals and experience.
His work draws from Structural Integration, Somatic Experiencing®, therapeutic massage, and movement-based practice to support lasting change rather than short-term symptom management. Clients often report feeling more grounded, connected, mobile, and at ease in their bodies over time.
Based in Sacramento, Nicholas works with people seeking support for chronic pain, stress-related tension, posture concerns, movement restrictions, injury recovery, and the physical effects of overwhelm and burnout.
Nicholas Green is a Certified Rolf Structural Integrator through the International Association of Structural Integrators. His initial training was completed at the Institute of PsychoStructural Balancing, where he earned certifications as a Massage Therapist and Holistic Health Practitioner while apprenticing with Dr. Edward Maupin — a clinical psychologist, Zen practitioner, and one of the longest-practicing structural integrators trained by Dr. Ida Rolf. Nicholas has completed all three years of the Somatic Experiencing® Professional Training, and is completing the remaining requirements for the Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) certificate.
Nicholas later attended the University of California, Santa Cruz, where he developed and earned the PsychoSocial Somatics degree, an interdisciplinary course of study integrating somatic psychology, movement, embodiment, and the relationship between body and mind.
His clinical work combines Structural Integration, Somatic Experiencing®, therapeutic massage, biomechanics, movement education, and nervous system-oriented approaches to help clients work with chronic pain, stress-related tension, posture patterns, movement restrictions, injury recovery, and the physical effects of overwhelm and trauma.
Rather than focusing only on symptom relief, Nicholas’ approach is designed to help clients better understand the underlying patterns contributing to pain, tension, and disconnection while supporting greater resilience, adaptability, and ease throughout the body.
Based in Sacramento near McKinley Park, Nicholas works with clients seeking a more integrative and body-centered approach to healing, movement, and nervous system regulation.

WAYS WE CAN WORK TOGETHER
Structural Integration
Hands-on, participatory manual therapy focused on patterns of tension, movement, posture and how your body organizes itself in gravity. Structural Integration uses touch and movement to explore greater support, adaptability and ease.
Somatic Experiencing®
A body-centered approach to stress, overwhelm and trauma-related patterns. We work with present-moment sensation, emotion, movement impulses, orientation and shifts in physiological state to develop greater flexibility in how your nervous system responds.
Integrated Structural & Somatic Appointment
My signature offering. This appointment gives us the flexibility to move between hands-on Structural Integration and nervous system oriented somatic work. We can approach an issue through physical structure, physiological responses to stress or both depending on what is useful.
Posture Lab
A movement and education appointment focused on how you organize yourself in gravity. We may use movement assessment, exercise, mobility work and self-myofascial release to develop strategies you can practice independently.
Massage Therapy
A primarily passive appointment for people who want to receive hands-on work without the active participation involved in Structural Integration and Somatic Experiencing® appointments. The emphasis is on comfort, relaxation and therapeutic touch.

WHAT HAPPENS IN A SESSION?
If it’s your first appointment with me we’ll sit down together and I’ll ask you some basic health questions, answer any questions you have for me and take you through some basic diagnostics. I may watch you walk, lift your arms up, bend your knees - the movements will vary and depend upon what’s happening in your unique body.
Sometimes I’ll ask that you pause when you’re describing something and ask you to become aware of your body. This can happen seated, standing or lying down on my table. Often toward the beginning of the appointment I’ll ask you to lie on the table (in comfortable clothes), generally on your back or side, and I’ll apply gentle pressure to muscles, bones or joints. I’ll ask you what it feels like and often guide you to make subtle movements that may change the sensations you’re experiencing.
The method I use is a two-way process for integrating the body. I use physical pressure to stretch or guide your connective tissue to a place of greater ease while you use that pressure to release holding patterns. Pressure can vary considerably but the goal is always to create more ease and pleasure in your body. Sometimes, no contact is necessary and other channels of experience are used to dive into the experience of your body. Often, toward the end of the appointment we’ll work seated or standing to orient you in your normal position in gravity. Generally, the session will end by bringing your awareness beyond your body and into the surrounding space.

Just what I was needing. You won’t be disappointed! Nicholas was highly informative, professional, and knows his stuff. Truly an enlightening experience! I noticed relief instantly after my 1st session. I will definitely be returning as well as recommending his services to friends, family, and my own clients.
- Heather
Nich was awesome, really took the time to listen to what I had to say and respond in a meaningful way. Also reframed the way that I look at some of the “chronic” problems I was experiencing.
- Daniel
Wonderful care and time spent during our first appointment! Nich has a beautiful office and made me very comfortable, I am looking forward to working with him going forward.
- Samuel
I love Rolfing and myofascial release because it works to realign my body when it gets out of alignment through my misuse and it really works great to release tension and soreness. I purchased a three session series with Nich and am so thankful I did because he has relieved a lot of the trigger points in my neck, shoulders, back and feet. He also teaches me self care exercises I can do in between appointments. I am so looking forward to my next appointment and am so happy to have a fantastic therapist I can go to when I’m in pain or for regular maintenance.
